Best camera I have owned to date!

Over the past 6-7years I have owned several trail camera's. The cuddeback capture has been my best to date. I have it about two months and it has taken about 1000 pix. A lot of small animals which I could avoid by setting the camera a little higher on the tree.
The hair trigger is fabulous. I have pix of birds flying by the camera, rabbits running, squirrels running, bucks chasing doe, etc., without blurring.
I put batteries in when I got the camera and they are still going strong, which had been one of my chief complaints of other camera's in the past.
It is very easy; the easiest so far to setup and use. I had no problem with the SD cards and can view them with my camera or computer without a problem.
The only negative is that about one out of every 70 pix seems to be underexposed for some reason. It's not the flash because it happens on sunny days too.
The pictures are sharp and crisp enough that I can see details on most of the animals.
I am very pleased with this camera!! |
Cuddeback Capture

I have owned several other low-end trail cameras in the past. None even come close to the quality and performance of the Cuddeback. The camera works just as advertised. Very easy set-up, long battery life and clear pictures both day and night.
I did have some trouble with the camera not recognizing the SD card. Once I reformatted the card on my computer, I was good to go. One other nice feature of the Cuddebacks is they offer a steel "Bear Safe" box. You can lag bolt the box to a tree and padlock the camera inside. Might be a deterrent to someone looking to steal the camera.
I highly recommed this camera. |

| This is a great camera for any hunter wanting to get pictures of the bucks that he will never see in real life. The only thing that this camera doesn't come with that it should is a lock. There is a place where a pad lock can be added to it, but you will have to purchase it seperate. I just used the lock off of my Bushnell Camera and threw the bushnell in the trash. The bushnell was the worst camera I have had except for one of the older stealth cams. |

First I had a Excite, anyone who had one knows they had a battery connect problem, Cuddeback revamped it , works well for me 5 years worth, Then I got 3 Capture, No problems at all and if you can't figure this camera out in about 20 seconds on how to set it up you got no business even using a deer camera !
I've had 9 different cuddeback cameras and only had 1 go bad after 6 years ( I had it repaired ) . Love the Capture !!! |
Camera is good, instructions poor

| The camera works as advertized but the instructions are poor. This is my third game camera. The first was a 35mm some years ago, it wasted film and did not perform well, I took it back. The second was a very cheap Wildview that worked good but then died, I took it back (the company suggest that and did not volunteer to fix it). The Cuddeback worked well but the rotary switch is hard to set and I had to put a white dot on the pointy end so I could see what setting I was making. Then the SD card was not being recognized by the camera and I turned to the Cuddeback Web site. It only said I had to format the card on my computer but did not say how. I downloaded the free Trophy Room software but the HELP feature would not work. Then I tried ordering a manual but there is no manual available. Then Trophy Rooom moved all of My Pictures to it's program on my computer and it took several hours to move them back. I removed Tropy Room from my computer and now only use Windows picture program to process my game camera picutes. And don't bother calling the company this time of year, it must be hunting season back there and they don't answer the phone. After two days I solved the SD card problem by myself and have taken some very good pictures of raccoons and skunks stealing my cat's food on the front porch and the deer stealing alfalfa hay from the barn. I would reccomend paying a bit more and buy the Cuddeback with the IR flashless feature. |
Best scout camera for under $200

| We have been using the Cuddeback Capture digital cameras for years; we currently have 8 of them in year-round use. After trying several different brands of styles of scout cameras, the Capture is without a doubt the easiest to set up and use. Insert an SD card, turn the dial to the setting you want, and you're good to go. Anyone who thinks this camera is difficult to use should not be trusted to carry to a rifle or drive a car. Photo quality, trigger speed, and range of the camera are all excellent. The included attachment strap is adequate, but leaves the camera very susceptible to theft and bear attacks, both of which we have experienced. The "Bear Safe" lock-box is highly recommended if you are in an area where either of these could be an issue. The only major issue experienced over the years with this model is that it sometimes malfunctions during long periods of below-freezing temperatures and does not take pictures. Once in a warmer environment, the cameras return to normal function. Have yet to do much experimenting with different types of batteries, but that might make a difference. This is something to keep in mind if you are in a very cold region. However, the Cuddebacks have been much more reliable overall than other "cheap" scout cameras. |
